Mayor george Fitch
We are particularly impacted by the passing of the founder of the Jamaican Bobsled Team George Fitch.  On behalf of all the team members, co-founders and all who knew him (as we did) we express our deepest condolence to Pat and the Fitch family. George was a world traveller and lived among many other places in Jamaica before returning home to Virginia where he became Mayor of a town he lived in. George and Pat were also very fond of France and I know he would be grieved by the recent incidents so in his honour we also pay our respects to the families of ALL who lost their lives and pray for that day when all this too shall pass.

With respect and sympathy

HOWARD ANTHONY STEPHEN THOMAS

STEPHEN THOMAS

HOWARD ANTHONY STEPHEN THOMAS: Made his transition on December 17, 2013 in Cardiff S. Wales. He leaves children Tiana and Taylor, friend Patricia, sister Cathy and brother Paul. Nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many, many friends. Cremation in Cardiff.

At first I shall miss you like the morning’s light and the evening’s approaching darkness, daily…
I shall berate you, hate you, cry for you, not believe you, that you would leave, really, leave!
Then I will hold you in my heart’s embrace and rock my, MY, personal memories of you and smile, a tear falling down my face. Then I will remember you telling me, telling us all, not to miss you…and smirk at your silliness. We will miss you as we choose, for as long as we like. We loved you…

Bunny Rugs Aka William Clarke, lead singer for  Jamaica’s first Rock/reggae band Third World, passed on Sunday at his yard in Orlando, Fla.,  Clarke suffered from leukemia. He would have been 66 come Feb 6th just a few days shy and a birthday also celebrated by another great Jamaican Artiste Bob Marley.

Rugs joined worlers in 1976, after working with Lee “Scratch” Perry (Black Ark Studio) and the band Inner Circle in Jamaica. He appeared on all of Third World’s records aside from their debut. In 1977, Third World’s popular 96 Degrees in the Shade album was released through Chris Blackwells Island Records. Their biggest hit came in 1978, with a take on the O’Jays’ “Now That We Found Love”. They also had a hit in 1982 with the Stevie Wonder collaboration “Try Jah Love”. Clarke played with Third World until his death. In fact Oncetime interviewed the band when they came to Toronto recently (see our youtube channel oncetime123)

Clarke is survived by his wife and eight children. Below is a photo I took when we were with him at Liguanea Club In Jamaica about 2 years ago. He was a friends as well as a tremendous talent and we wish his family our sincerest sympathies .
